Global citizenship is an important part of life at St Mary's school and is interwoven with our school's Chistian values and vision.

 

Classes from Year 1 to Year 6 each have two global citizenship ambassadors. These children meet regularly to plan a range of activities from the school power-off hour, litters picks,  and raising awareness of issues of poverty and injustice. The work the children do is inspired by the suggestions from pupils throughout the school. At the end of the summer term, following St Mary's annual Global Action Week, pupils from all classes have the opportunity to make suggestions for the coming academic year and the global citizenship ambassadors vote on priorities for their focus throughout the school year.

 

St Mary's is delighted to have achieved the Christian Aid award for Global Neighbours in bronze, silver ... and gold!
